An amazing job! I wish this was a complete game, it has a lot of potential. I loved the graphics, the atmosphere, the sound, the gameplay... it really captures how we all remember the original resident evil games :3 I really encourage you to keep working on this project!

I loved it, I wish it was a completed game......

It really has so much potential and I would definitely pay for it <3 GJ

This absolutely rocks and I wish there was more. Really captures the essence of what you REMEMBER PS1 games being, and not what they actually are.

Does anyone know if this will become a full game? It has so much potential and I would love to play the complete game!!

(+1)

absolutely superb

Tried out 'ENDLESS BLUE'!

God DAMN I loved this. All of the ingredients were so authentic I felt like I was transported back into the 90s (except for lighting, but I'll forgive that because it looked sexy).

I realize everyone and their uncle is dumping their letsplay in these comment sections, but here's one with a beard.

This is so professionally done! Amazing!

very nice, i had fun. but the animations were a bit too smooth and mo-cappy for a ps1 inspired title and no tank controls :(. the 30 fps setting really helped aswell.

Such an awesome game can't for more gameplay to come out love the nostalgic feels.
(+1)

Looks really nostalgy, i should check it now! Nice job, guys.

(+1)

Love it. Awesome.

Honestly, I think most games done by individual people, or small groups of friends whether done in a month and a half or several years, is always gunna sound shit, unless they have studio quality mics. That's why I'm trying to stay away from voice acting lo

im not talking about the quality of the mic, i mean that there was no emotion in anything being said and sounded really monotone

(+1)

No need to be vulgar. The voice was obviously made through AI, this game was developed by one person, and therefore that person has done a great job.

(+1)

yeah. i said the game was good, just not the voice acting

That seems intentional, to make it more authentic to the PS1 experience. "Jill Sandwich" and all that.

Maybe

(+2)

that was really good! The gameplay is good, graphics and 90s atmosphere is awesome! the only bad thing is voices. keep going guys! good demo! (sorry for bed england :)

(1 edit) (+1)

Sorry for bed england? Too cute! :) But never apologize for bed england.

Great Begining!, gives the same vibes as Resident evil and Dino crisis, look forward to more so please keep up the excellent work!

Looks like a stellar game, but unfortunately not compatible with my x-box controller :/

One thing you can try is adding this as a non-Steam game to your Steam library, then you should be able to play with any controller that Steam supports.

Cool stylish but I think it's unnecessary to nostalgize the control as well.

(+1)

Promising!

this game is awesome i cant wait for the full game

(+1)

Just got to play this demo finally. I loved it and cannot wait for more!

This game was getting sooo good i wish there was more. I had fun playing. Check out my video and let me know what you think i would really appreciate it.

Hello/
I really loved that prototype!
I'm a big fan of old survival horror games and here, we have a great potential. Good directing, cutscenes, voices, a MGS-like codec... I'll be more than happy if Endless Blue could become a full game.

(+1)

Great Project! Love the classic survival horror games (Tank controls and all!) Not to mention that an underwater facility seems like such a perfect setting for a survival horror game! Good job! Hope to see more! (P.S. Great job with the voice acting! It really reminds me of the early days of video game voice acting!)

(+1)

Genuinely good, just wish it was longer! Never seen a jam game with an opening cinematic, so I'm willing to bet you can pull off the full project.

(+1)

Great fucking project. I'm a sucker for these kinds of PS1 style games

(+1)

Great work! Love the game. Wish I made a game like this back in the 90s :)

(+2)

Absolutely awesome, I really wanted to continue playing! I loved the animation, the graphics, the general aesthetics, the sountrack, the... everything! I really hope you consider continuing this project. I would consider plopping down some cash to see the full version.

(+3)

This is really good :) hope you consider making a longer, paid version.

I like how you set up interesting mysteries in a short amount of time. I wanna know more.

One thing I think is, the door animation takes too long. Maybe one turn of the handle is enough?

Thank you for making this, and have a nice day :)

(+2)

Thanks for your feedback! It's not mentioned explicitly in the game, but you can actually skip the door opening animations by pressing 'E' again.

I liked how the game ended, it made you question more. The style of the game presents all these mysterious video clips and you wonder how its all connected. The music is phenomenal, the art direction and cinematography felt Resident Evil inspired, but it felt like its own story not a rip off. It's clear that this isn't finished but I hope to see more of this game.

(+1)

I was thrown by the text to speech voice acting but otherwise an awesome short survival horror game that took the right influences from Resident Evil and Silent Hill! Good job! (Game starts at 13:50)

(+2)

So you should definitely take whoever composed your music and give them a big slobbery kiss (or a high five or whatever's appropriate) because those were some funky fresh tunes. Honestly I loved this playthrough. Even though this demo was relatively short, it's evident that you took a great deal envisioning the underwater facility, and I can tell by the notes left behind and the trailer at the beginning that you have a clear idea for a story in mind. Count me on the side of people who want to see much more of this game in the future!
(+2)

Thank you! I actually wrote the music myself, but I don't think anybody wants to see that slobbery kiss happen.

(+2)

I do *wink wink*

(+1)

As soon as the first Door open I thought "Crap, Resident Evil". The only problem I saw was you could continue playing after the final dialogue making is seem like the game continues.

(+1)

Good demo!

(1 edit) (+1)

Excuse my random intro ... but this game has me itch.io'n to see if there's going to be a full game. The resident evil vibe kept me drawn in and i think you really got something here! Nice job!

Side note: I was really bummed when it ended but the credits made up for it 1000%.

(+1)

Potential is probably overused on itch.io but I feel like here's a ton here, I like the polish, the janky voice acting... the setting. It's good at what it sets out to do but I'd love to see it really set itself apart in some way

Gameplay if you're interested:

(+1)

Loved it. Mysterious and intriguing. Even though I never played RE growing up, it still drew me in. Definitely wouldn't mind paying for the full story.

(+2)

Really excellent work! Everything is well polished and the direction is excellent. It feels very professional in all aspects. For non-vr projects remember to disable the Oculus and SteamVR plugins in UE4. I have no idea why Epic have them enabled by default but it launches SteamVR when you start the game because of it.

(+1)

I loved the style! The low poly models with somewhat realistic lighting make for an interesting contrast.

I did NOT expect the sequence during the credits lmao

(+1)

Hey! I did a big roundup on a bunch of games in the jam (including yours) with some thoughts on each. Figured I'd share it here for anyone interested!
